Nuclear Reaction Threshold and Energy Values
|
where |
variable SUM |
is the sum of all "Outgoing Particles" masses; |
variable M1 |
is the "Target Nucleus" mass, |
|
variable M2 |
is the "Incident Particle" mass. |
Mass values from / G.Audi, A.H.Wapstra and C.Thibault. The Ame2003 atomic mass evaluation (II). Nucl.Phys. A729 337-676 (2003)/ are used in calculations.
Heads of columns:
A:
- Mass number of target nucleusReaction participants designation:
"Z", "A" and "Number of Particles" (initially equal to 1) identify both "Target Nucleus" and "Outgoing Particles" (1, 2, etc.), for example:
"Target Nucleus" |
12–MG–26: |
|
|
12 |
26: |
"Outgoing Particle 1" |
1 outgoing neutron: |
|
0 |

"Outgoing Particle 1" |
2 outgoing neutrons: |

2; |
"Outgoing Particle 1" |
1 outgoing proton: |

"Outgoing Particle 1" |
3 outgoing protons: |

"Outgoing Particle 1" |
1 outgoing alpha-particle: |
|
2 |
4 |

"Outgoing Particle 1" |
4 outgoing alpha-particles: |

So, for example, the reaction 12-MG-26(G,N+2P)10-NE-24 must be designated as follows:
"Target Nucleus" |
12–MG–26: |
12 |
26: |
||
"Outgoing Particle 1" |
1 outgoing neutron: |
0 |
1 |

|
"Outgoing Particle 2" |
2 outgoing protons: |

2. |
For more amount of outgoing particles the link ( if more particles >> ) must be used.
For incident nuclei differ from "Incident Particle" ( heavier than 2-HE-4 ) the link ( for nucleus >> ) should be used.

Nucleon Separation Energy Graph Engine is universal program for plotting graph of nucleon separation energies.
Search form of this program contains such fields as:
1) "Z" - nucleus charge (you may choose range of charges; example: 20-40),
2) "A" - nucleus Atomic mass (you may choose range of Atomic masses; example: 30-60),
3) Type and number of nucleon separated (namefield "Reaction") (multiselect field),
4) radio buttons of number of visible nucleus.
Separation energy data have been taken from source "ATOMIC MASS ADJUSTMENT" (18 Nov 2003).
"ATOMIC MASS ADJUSTMENT" is one file out of a series of 3 files published in:
"The Ame2003 atomic mass evaluation (II)" by G.Audi, A.H.Wapstra and C.Thibault
Nuclear Physics A729 p. 337-676, December 22, 2003.
